There is a challenge for artists in the month of October called Inktober. I found out about it from someone I no longer talk to, but I found the concept fascinating. Writers have NanoWriMo and I love participating in that, but I do not participate in the other things they have throughout the year. I thought with Inktober I could use it to my own advantage and take a few prompts from Inktober to write a few short stories/flash fiction for the month of October.

As you can see there is a daily prompt for artists. As I am just now getting myself back into writing after a break for a few months I am going to use a number generator to pick one prompt a week for October and post the story on Saturday. This will give me 4 short stories by the end of October.

*Drumroll* My first number is……

24! This week’s Prompt is Fairy. I can’t say I am too mad about that. I can always write a quick fairy story. But, since I have so many numbers to pick from I am going to pick one more number as a companion to the first number. I don’t know what I will do with it or how to make it work, but I want a little more of a challenge than fairies.

*Second drumroll* The second number is….

6! Bouquet! I can work with that. Let’s see what happens with this story! Tune in Saturday (tomorrow) and see what kind of story we get!
