I am not going to waste a lot of time saying anything. Just, here is the next story in the writing challenge. I take one prompt and write 4 different stories for the prompt. The month of April’s prompt is The warehouse. This second story involves a stripper and other things. I hope you enjoy it! It is a little longer than I expected.

I grumble and groan as I pull myself out of the body bag. It’s not the first time I have found myself in one. Though, it is the first time I didn’t see the betrayal coming. I didn’t know that my boyfriend would be the one to drive the knife into my abdomen. I didn’t know my boyfriend would be the kind who would cheat. I surely didn’t think that he would be the type to want barbie next door, Amber Jade.

Amber Jade is a stripper from the local strip club. She wasn’t one of the cool ones that talked to me and gave my boyfriend free lap dances to watch his face turn red. Nope, she was the uncool one that got her eyes set on Tyler the minute she spotted him and did everything in her power to get him away from me. Tyler is sweet and a little dumb, but I loved him. Honestly, I did. He was a good boyfriend for a while.

Why were we going to strip clubs in the first place? I’m a bouncer. I have skills and women watch out for each other.  I am also the house mom. I have many jobs at the strip club. Tyler likes to visit while I am at work and most of the girls look out for him, free lap dances and drinks. I am not the jealous type and I know who he comes home with. Besides, he watches my back on busy days. I tried to get him to work with me, but he said it’s not good to get your “honey where you get your money.”

Amber Jade has a way with the men and I kind of hate her. She can manipulate even the best of them to do her bidding. Maybe she would have left Tyler alone if she didn’t have it out for me. She was only mad at me because the club owner, Cherry wanted to give me the club when she opened a new one in the next state over. Amber thinks she deserves the place, even though she is the reason so many wives and girlfriends threaten to get us shut down every week.

That is all a mess, and so is the current situation I have myself in. A quick look around after my eyes have adjusted to the moonlight filtering through the dirty windows, I know I am in the abandoned warehouse at the edge of town. I’m impressed Amber Jade and Tyler were able to drag my body into a vehicle and into the warehouse. It’s not a shock that I am right inside the big bay door and just to the side so no passing traffic can see me. I am assuming they are coming back for me at some point. I won’t be here when they come back.

My head jerks behind me when I hear something shuffling in the back corner. “You are the first one to escape the body bag alone.” The shadow says. I watch as a figure calmly walks into the beam of the moonlight. “Amber is not usually so messy when bringing me fresh food.” I watch as the eyes glow bright blue and the man smiles, showing his pearly white, and very sharp, teeth. I smile when I catch his scent and my smile grows even wider when he catches my scent and his eyes grow with instant recognition.

He is only his knees bowing his head to me. “My Queen, I did not know this was your area.” I hear a sob in his voice. “If you spare me, I will leave.” His shoulders shake with fear. I laugh. Silly vampires. They always lose their arrogance when they finally meet me.

“Stand up, Kari.” He stands instantly, his head still bowed.

“How do you know my name?” He asks me.

“I know all my children.” I laugh. “You have permission to look at me.” I shake my head. His glowing blue eyes are now, honey golden. I love the way his brown eyes look in the moonlight. Kari never understood how gorgeous he was and he was possibly one of my favorite children. Mother of vampires. Yep, that’s me. I have been around for far too long, but I am still having fun with life. As life progresses, I find new things to get my hands into. “I knew you were here.” I hold back a giggle when his mouth drops. I am not as bad as they all think I am. I like that they fear me, that means I don’t have to kill them when they get to comfortable and think they can kill me. “You have a few others living here too.” I state. “You run the show, but you got someone watching you very closely.” I warn him. I would have taken out Kari’s competition already if I had wanted them to know I was here. It’s not really competition, just another vampire trying to start trouble.

“My Queen.” Kari nods. “There are maybe twenty of us here.”

“Collecting all the stray vampires?” I laugh.

“No one should be left alone.” He states.

“But you are testing Amber, giving her a chance to become one of us?” I ask him. He nods.

“I will get rid of her.” He states.

“No.” I shake my head. “Turn her.” I smile. Kari’s eyes grow wide. “Tell her to bring Tyler with her.”

“Shall I turn him as well?” He asks. I shake my head. “Dinner.” He says, catching on. I walk up to Kari and pat him on the head.

“Good little vampire.” I laugh. Call her now. Tell her that you were so pleased with your latest meal, me, that you want to turn her now.”

“On it, my Queen.” I put a hand on his arm to stop him from moving away.

“I want to change something. Queen is great, but from now on, call me boss.”

“Of course…” He pauses and looks at me. “…boss.”

An hour later Amber was standing in the middle of a pit of vampires. She was smiling with her big boobs hanging out of the top of her shirt and her fried blond hair doing it’s best to cling to her scalp. Tyler was standing beside her with his hand in hers. She thought he was getting turned too. I was going to stay in the shadows until she was turned. It would happen quick, almost instantly for those around her. For her it is going to feel like hours of pain.

The minute Kari sinks his teeth into her neck I step out of the shadows and wave at her. Her eyes grow wide and fear sets in. The minute the venom got into her blood she could see the truth of what stood before her. She could see I now had all the power over her. She hadn’t bested me, she screwed herself over.

“My…queen.” She said when she came to from her seconds of torture. Her eyes once blue are now silver. “Please forgive me for transgression.”

“You will pay for it.” I look to Tyler, his face pale as if the blood had already been drained from him. “Tyler, come to me.” I hold out my hand to him and he takes it.

“Rose, I am so sorry.” Tyler started to stammer. “Babe, I was manipulated.” Amber hissed.

“Oh Tyler.” I stroked the side of his face. “I could have had you for so many more years before I got bored of you. You were fun, but you let bimbo barbie get in your head.” I flicked his forehead. “As you must know, I can not let this go by with out punishment.” I look at Amber, bloody tears are streaming down her face. “Your first feeding will be on him.” I shove him at her.

“No, please don’t make me. I love him.” She cries out. I can feel when my eyes light with anger, not the calm blue like Kari. My eyes glow a dangerous, blinding white.

“You are now mine.” I growl. “You do not question me or defy me.” I slap her across, an act that still makes me a little sick. I hate being mean to them. I love my children, despite what they have done. I hate punishing them.

“I don’t want to be a vampire.” Tyler shouts.

“Don’t worry, you won’t be.” I snarl and snap my eyes back to Amber. “Now.” She bites into his neck. I turn from the scene and leave the warehouse. Kari meets me outside.

“What now boss?” He asks.

“Send Amber to work tomorrow night. She is to live here for the next month, only leaving for work. Teach her to respect her queen.”

“Yes, boss.” Kari says.

“I like you, Kari.” I smile at the man. “You are going to do well by my side.” I laugh as he tries to hide his smile. “I have to get to work.”

I leave the warehouse going back to the strip club. Cherry comes out of the back and smiles at me, flashing her fangs. Now that I had Kari, Cherry was free to chase her own dreams in another state. It was time for me to take over the strip club. Amber was the last human stripper. I should have turned her sooner, before Tyler got caught in his trap. I am going to miss him.

“Hey Rose, you think you could help me find the perfect place for the new hive?” She asked. I already had some ideas, and she was going to take Amber with her. She was going to be mad at me for that one.
